Our client had just launched his business with success getting traction, but had very little experience, and thus felt overwhelmed, structuring deals, bringing on employees, and managing clients effectively or in proportion to the size of the client.

The Situation

Our client had only for the last three months started managing his own client’s Instagram profiles. He was very good at it, but was overwhelmed with making decisions on how to charge and how to automate processes that would later allow him to scale. He had also just gone through bringing a partner in who had shortly thereafter left and stolen his customers. Financials and customer data was a mess and risk was high that he would not be able to deal with customer issues as things went forward.

Our Process

We turned our client into an entrepreneur instead of a freelancer by expanding his business practices in a way that could scale effectively.

After understanding the business and his goals, we had to get his numbers and financials cleaned up, so that we could all make informed decisions. We then went on to defining tiered servicing packages using our three-pronged pricing approach: value, competitiveness, and cost plus by target segment. After that, we set up customer dashboards and onboarding processes as well as helped him hire employees to take the business past being reliant on only him.

The Results

We turned our client into an entrepreneur instead of a freelancer by expanding his business practices in a way that could scale effectively. It is unfair to claim a business growth rate since we started from such a low beginning, but we enabled our client to operate a profitable enough business that made it personally feasible to continue to pursue and scale out with a set formula of when and how to hire additional staff as sales grow.
